Global food prices declined for the second consecutive month in October 2025, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The FAO Food Price Index averaged 126.4 points, down from September’s 128.5, marking a continued easing from earlier highs. The drop was mainly driven by falling prices for sugar, dairy, and meat, supported by strong global supply — particularly record cereal production forecasts for 2025. However, vegetable oil prices rose slightly, reaching their highest level since mid-2022.
